First audit client.. ho hum

So it all begins with a client called Li & Fung or IDS or whatever. Deals in manufacturing of medical gadgets and stuff. Went with 3 others... one senior manager and 2 associates. Being a senior had no bearing with the ladies as they had been there longer so no worries.

Client was fine and I got a quick to do from my senior manager. Doing a Data Conversion Review and Process Review on their Sales using the JD Edwards system (now called OneWorld following its merger with Oracle).

Not too shabby I must say. Gonna be here for quite some time too.

1st day in PwC

Got my stuff all ready for the big day and BANG! What a huge welcome party at Wisma Sime Darby! There was catered food and lots of people. Dato' Johan gave a welcome speech, followed with briefing from HR and other HoD to get us up to speed.

Must say that it is quite organised over here despite the overall lack of 'feel' due to the aging Wisma Sime Darby building. According to the orientation timetable, I've got about 7 days of 'mind walking' before actual work. Wooo hoo.

What's more impressive is the quality of their CBT (Computer Based Training) and library facilities! Not just limited by mere web training, there's even voice-overs, videos and Flash animation to go with the boring audit know-how. Cool! Knowing that audit firms have their own audit methodolgy, this would count as my second. But its all common sense really!

I'm in a department called systems assurance... hmm..... IT and audit blended.... we'll see how that taste like.
